Title: cant find paint code
Post by: rcsammy on 02 July 2010, 10:41
I've looked in the guide, but as you can see from the picture the sticker has been wrecked, from the previous owner trying to take out the rear interior i expect

So would anyone be kind enough to circle on the picture or tell me exactly where to look? i can see most of the sticker if i hold it up to the light, it would just make it alot easier if i knew exactly where to look

Did he try taking out the interior by setting it on fire or something?

Its covered in greasy/oil, ive tried cleaning it, if i knew exactly where the code is/was i think i could make out what it is

not sure exactly what he was trying to achieve  one rear seatbelts gone, rear bench isnt bolted in, boot carpet and panelling is gone
good job i want to get a nicer interior anyway

All the paint codes are here: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=58234.0

At least, if your car is black or red, it makes it a bit easier to find the exact color

yeah i already wrote up a list, was going to try and see if i could atleast fine a couple of digits so i could tell but like i said its really hard without knowing exactly where the code is

its just above the pr codes (in the middle were the black is on the sticker) i recomend to ring your nearest vw dealer with your chassis number and thy will give you your paint  code of dialog system.

ooohh nice, a bit of inspiration, white or black is deffinatly the best colour for them imo

i think thats it, my paint obviously needs a damn good T cut and polish to look like that though, it was pretty bright white today when the sun was on it though

I got a new front and rear bumper, it was the same paint code but it looked like cream. After a good polish and paint renovator it looked like new, well worth the 7 hours I spent cleaning it that day.
