Title: Exhaust warning light - fix
Post by: trizza on 30 June 2010, 23:50
My emissions/exhaust warning light came on last week 60 miles after a 20K service at a VW stealers ,...

Sounded like the car was running a little rough at idle - took it into a recommended local garage, who replaced the spark plugs - which seems to have fixed the problem

They also replaced the brake fluid for £28, whereas the stealers were after £75, and confirmed the stealers were talking rubbish when they said the car needed new front suspension bushes.

Total cost was £140 - dread to think what it would have been at the stealers.

60 miles after a service from a VW dealer, I would be taking it back there and not paying a penny and getting them to fix it.

Just another reason I dont take my car back to VW for any work. Theres a lot to be said about finding a good indy VAG specialist garage.
