Hey all,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but hopefully by the end of today i'll be a new owner of a 2007 MK5 GTI, and has about 45K milage. I'm just wondering if there are any common faults/problems to look out for before I buy it. I'm purchasing it from a VW garage so I'm hoping any faults will be resolved by themselves or if any are missed it can be fixed in the warrenty. But just to be safe, is there anything I should look out for?
Any help would be great
thanks!

Cambelt tensioner. Sounds like its rubbing at low speed only from cold. Get that changed, and will give you a cambelt change aswell under warranty

Sorry for my dumbness, but are you saying that if I get a new Cambelt tensioner I get the cambelt changed under warranty?

Cooling fans for aircon can fail...seems quite common - pretty obvious to spot as the car sounds like a jet engine if stood for any time with the aircon on
