Well i'm currently with Adrian Flux and will most likely be renewing with them next month, although i may hive HIC a shout as they are listed on this site.
But for the giggle, i thought i'd see what all the fuss was about on "compare the market.com" and "confused.com" and what a load of garbage they are!
OK so i drive (like 99% of people on here) a specilist/modded car so wasnt expecting much but it annoys me when it gives you a result of "80 companies were unable to provide a quote" - WTF is that all about?
Unless your 70 and nigh on dead with 100 years NCB and drive a 1.0 Fiat it seems impossible to get quotes from these people, and even if i did get one it would probably be laughable.
Don't get me wrong i am more than happy with AF but just wanted to see what was out there... the result... not a lot!
End of rant!

You're right, they are all rubbish, i dont even waste my time with em!

You are comparing specialist insurers with much more general ones. Bet if you put through an example of someone in their mid 30's, full ncb, with a non modified mk5 GTI you would receive loads of great quotes from the comparison type ones. Then you would contact the likes of Direct Line and probably get an even better deal.
Same thing with people being shocked that webuyanycar don't actually value their rat look, modified to death mk2 quite as much as they do!

The sites are sh!t because the mainstream insurance companies are moving towards dealing directly with the customer so thus they no longer provide details / products to the websites
And as JV mentioned they won't quote on a heavily modified car

I have found them ok.

saved my daughter 350
standard car = win on them

The online quotes seemed all right for me but they all said I had to phone in to arrange the policy. When I did that they asked much more detailed questions about my mods and surprise surprise, the premium went up. It looks to me like they give a decent quote online to draw you in, then up it when they have you on the phone so beware....
