Post by: dubslug on 25 December 2004, 20:10
alright all, i have recently bought myself a mk 2 90 8v gti but my question is why would the speedo be over reading??
its the single plug type which reads 120mph, when sat with the engine idling it reads im doing abt 14mph!!
ant ideas as it very hard to judge my speed at the moment, its not got anything to do with wheels as ive tried three sets lol

Sounds like the needle wasn't on right, if you lift the needle over the stop it should point to a little white line near the bottom of the speedo, take the speedo out and you'll see what I mean!

Pop the needle off (use 2 dinner knives either side of the needle and twist) and refit in the right place.
