After having my car freckled in white paint by some morons, the clowns decided to wash it off. I was hesitant, as I knew they'd swirl my paint work.
What's the best way to get my paint back to smooth non swirled paint work like it was yesterday? They'll f**king pay, so I'm prepeared to use a specialist.

From my very limited knowledge of detailing to get rid of swirls you need to machine polish or clay it. I think, its one or the other . . lol
-
finishing compound and a rotory with someone that knows what there doing on the end of it ie me or guy
-
I wouldnt attempt it myself get someone to do it for you who knows what they are doing (pro detailer)
-
Yeah I'll pay for a pro to do it. I'm in the Watford area if there's anyone around the area about.

I visited a bodywork specialist today. They quoted £60 to go over the car with a compound that will remove the swirls. Not a bad price I think. They demonstrated the compound on a small section of my car and it looks impressive.

And you're all better than a bodywork shop?
So how much are we talking then for a wash, buff with fine compound to remove the swirls and then a layer of protective wax?

Using a rotary really isn't difficult at all,but for the price of a rotary, products, pads etc.....you could get it fully corrected, expect to pay £275+

believe it or not there is a knack to using a rotory and in unexperienced hands can be a recipe for disaster, trust me ive seen many guys thinking its easy and then watched them foooook the paint on the car.
and yes 250+ is about right for priceing.

I'll fix it fot a pint if your near glasgow.

I get so much work as a result of main dealership valeters that think "using a rotary really isn't difficult". It is very easy to cut right through your paint if you don't know what you're doing and you aren't using the appropriate products.
As the pro-valeters on here have said - get a professional to do it. £60 is too cheap, you'll just get a bodyshop monkey doing it for that sort of price. You should expect to pay anything between £160-£300 depending on what else they will be doing (e.g prepping/waxing).
