Title: EML light not working

hi people, this is an odd 1. my EML light doesn't work on my 1.8t AUG and i have got a mac code reading tool off a mate and it wont work on my car or it wont read it, its been used on all sorts of cars and not been a problem, he has a  1.8t AUM and workes fine, i have tried a vag com on it but that came from ebay so i just put it down to a crap copy but now this wont work, can any one help on this or if they know of anyone who has come acros this before  :sad:

AGU and AUM have differnt KWP protocols, some cheap or not vag tools wont read the AGU.  Most modern cars only flag the EML if an emmission realted fault it found as part of the EOBD rules.

o.k thanks. not sure why light doesn't work, inless the bulb has blown

Its rare an AGU will bring the EML up, you can have 20 stored fault codes but no EML.
