Hello.....
Has any1 experienced problems with the tick over on a GOLF GTI 8v mk11, i had this problem a while ago so i took my car to the garage n the guy there cleaned the injection system, cleaned the throttle body, my mixture was to rich so he got my mixture to the correct amount... i then picked the car up about 3 weeks ago and its been working fine, no problems at all until last night when i started to get the same problem. Could this be the Idle Control Valve? ???
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Cheers,
Garry

Hello mate take it off and spray loads of carb cleaner in it till it runs out clear. It should be ok then it worked on mine.

I assume you have the Digifant fuel injection system, in which case it could well be your ISV.
Have a look here:-

Its Audi, but the same rules apply to this particular component.

Cheers,
I had problems with mine and I've replied to several who've had fuel problems with my experience. I changed every sensor and valve you can think of as well as a proper VW setup but no change. I went back to basics and checked the fuel filter. It was totally clogged. Being an old car there was loads of muck in the fuel tank and was constantly clogging the filter. I flushed out the tank and replaced filter. It now drives like a dream. I hope it helps because I know how you feel
