Okay so after my recent family incident i had to get my drivers door totally replace.
Thankfully JordyGTI supplied a nice cheap door with just a few scratches on, so all it needed was a touch up/total respray. Although i thought why i am getting some bits touched up i might as well get everything i wanted bodywork wise sorted. This included fitting an anni kit.
Just to give you an idea these are the other bits i wanted doing.

I ended up trying a local auto repair garage only up the road from me. I was told that if i wanted all the above doing it is basically a full car repaint, minus the roof. He put a grand total of £1500 for all the painting/prep. This excluded fitting the skirts and valances.
I asked the guy is it not possible to just blend the panels/scratches rather than painting the entire pannel. He replied no. Is this true?
With this in mind i went to another garage near where i work. Asked exactly the same questions and amount of work. he came back with a price of about £600. He said that he didnt need to paint all the pannels and that he could blend just the scratch area in. I am guessing this is the reason of the massive price difference? Oh and the £600 included fitting the valances and skirts!!
I am not really sure what route to go down. I know you boy/gals are full of usefull information and would apprecieate if you could give me some!

I think that's quite pricey, I got my e36 cabrio passenger wing, door, rear quarter and drivers rear quarter sprayed as there was a malicious scratch around it. Also m3 skirts and front and rear bumper sprayed and fitted along with the bonnet all for £300 and it was a very good job. Pretty much just the drivers door and boot and obviously roof not done. Some places for cheap are dire! Go on recommendations

Black is a solid colour so will not have to be blended, sounds like the first guy was takin the p@ss!! Maybe get a third quote but £600 sounds about right to me. Make sure that the one you go with has good reviews as you don't want it all bubbling with rust in a few years!!
