Anyone going to GTI International next weekend and how far are you travelling?
It takes me around 3hrs from the north east to get there. Probably go on the sunday(went sat last year) but depends on which day is nicer for the weather.
Might get it REVO'd while im there!
-
I will be there,
Travelling down from Hull Sunday morning
-
I'm going on the Saturday. Taking the Mk6 and the Mk2. Really looking forward to it as it's my first one.
-
i was just going to ask the same question. I should be there Sunday if my dog stroller comes in. (My English Bulldog doesnt like to walk further than his food and his bed and we will be gone to long for him to be alone.) So if you see a red Stroller with a Bulldog in it thats me. i will be travelling from Suffolk County. There si a guy with a Stage 2 APR with a bunch of mods who is going to be there also White US Spec.
I have a US SPEC Black 5 door GTI blacked out emblems lowered Limo tint on the rears.

I will be there both days, make sure you all pop by and say hello

Hello! Your signature is a bit different from your current car?
Or do you have another one again?
Darren on Saturday and Harrods on Sunday!
-
^^^ I have mine back now and other than the wheels it's looking like the signature at present, but will be having another little flirt with the Golf R while at GTI International to see how she goes with an exhaust and remap

Make sure you spend loads at Harrods (ps It's a 10% weekend so it will be rammed again) as that's what keeps me in mods.

For those of you who went to Inters last week; did any of you get any good photos of mk6 GTIs?
Hardly any in the photos on here and other forums I visit.
-
If I remember rightly from the quarter mile time results there were only 4 Mk6s all weekend who posted a time, one of which was Steve P who did a run both days. I went on the Saturday, saw the 2 Mk6s on the strip post times but other than those and my own didn't see a single one (apart from on the VW stand).
-
Did VW not bring over any of the Worthersee specials then Andy?
The guy I normally go with went on the Saturday too but I couldn't attend this year (or last) due to them moving the show dates to the Missus's birthday weekend! She did say she didn't mind me going up on the Saturday (her actual birthday) but I felt guilty as a load of her family were travelling to visit her.

Yep, I ran a 13.4 1/4 with a 4.7 0-60 in the Golf R, and a 14.3 1/4 with a 5.88 0-60 in my GTI.
-
I'm guessing the R has been mapped since you had it on loan Steve?
How does that time compare with some of the stage 2 ED30s and the like?
-
Yes the R was mapped, it has a OCT map which is a very OEM like one so doesn't produce hugh increases but certainly map a difference.
It ran the same times as a Revo Stage 1 S3 and a little slower than the Stage 2+ ED30's (they ran around 13.1-13.2 on the day).
0-60 it was great but needed more power to offset the weight for improved the terminal times.
-
aw1m, are you going ? I heard you are just back from gay parade in London, how was it ?
-
No didn't see any of the Wörthersee specials. The VW stand was a load of VWs from a local dealer so not VW themselves. I'd have particularly liked to have seen that Adidas special.

Cheers for the info Steve. It must be a real weapon on the road now that it's mapped.

Shame VW don't make more effort. Did SEAT have a stand there this year?
-
I would have thought that's typical of VW really. Treating customers well doesn't seem to be a particular strength of theirs!!!
I seem to remember a SEAT stand (or something with SEATs on) but since I'm not really into them I didn't really take much notice of it.

I have watched the Gay Parade in Sydney on TV news.
Kev, me lad, such overt campness and such Parades are not my cup of tea. I know how desperate you are to meet new partners at this Gay Parade (?) or any other Parade for that matter. I am sure the boys will be delighted with your wealth, 3D-TV, petit bottom and White GTi, but can you kindly restrict yourself to individuals in your 'neck of the woods', please.
I thought the GTi Inters event was a couple of weeks ago and that you find such meetings very ghay. Now why would you show the slightest interest in the real thing? Hmmmmm.....
You confuse me sometimes, drear. :lipsrsealed:

With figures like these it is well worth getting an R re-mapped. I want one so badly.
Now I know why you were so impressed.
