Title: accelerator

hello all,

on my 2007 golf, when i puch the accelerator down it goes nearly all the way then stops, then if i push it harder it goes all the way to the floor, whats the reason for this??

If you have a dsg gearbox it's the kickdown button. on mines its green button under the pedal.  :smiley:

yer i do have dsg, so i have 2 push the pedal all the way down which makes it drop down gears anyway, to make it change down?? whats the use for it?

Not sure as it changes down well before then anyway. It must have something to do with the flyby wire system it uses.

In my e46 M3 (smg) there was similar system - going past kick-down dropped the gear to the most performance optimal. So sometimes I could be in 6th gear and on kick-down it would drop to 4th - as opposed to 5th on a gentle press.

I'd assume in principal the golf is the same - but not powerful enough to make the change so dramatic?
