Title: Just bought a gt tdi 130 :) a few questions?

Hi ive just bought a tdi 130 its a 3 door 53 plate in silver! just wondered if any one could tell me what engine oil i need to use?  also how oftern should the cam belt be done? also paint code is la7w anyone know what colour this is?

I'm nor too sure on the engine oil but the cambelt should be done every 60k miles. It is also recommended that you get the water pump done at the same time.

LA7W is the same is mine, reflex silver (if I've remembered correctly)

VW Platinum 5w40 around £26 for 5 litres

Or you can use Quantum PD oil as that is apparently enginered for the PD engine

what VW Quantum PD oil? which got discontinued about 6 months ago. VW Platinum is for PD engines as well

Congrats on your new motor mate, i had a look at one today but it was an unsuccessful journey for me.

how much did u pay for it?

Hi paid £4750 for it! has a couple of stone chips but no dents or scratches its has done 72000 miles has cam belt etc done at 40 something cant rember fully without looking at book seems like a really nice car,little bit diffrent to drive than my mk2 gti but they drive great bought mine from a private seller did look at a 150 from a garage a while back and wasnt to impressed they convenetly lost the advisory notice and had quite a few scuffs on it and bloke keep saying wouldnt find a better one and that was up for £6495 glad i left it where it was. Im sure u will find one keep looking really pleased with mine so far!

Cool, seems like you got a decent deal there being a 53 plate too, well done. Im not rushing into buying one, im being pretty careful as you were :wink:

Agreed with both, best colour and common for that reason.
