Title: scratched window glass
Post by: Mr_Orange on 18 June 2010, 16:03
Inside face of passenger window is scratched where window once dropped into door.  Can this be remedied or best to just replace glass?

If I replace glass are there different colour factory tints on these or all the same?  Looks like a really light green.

If I am thinking correctly, windscreen and rear window glass can be buffed but side windows cannot because they are toughened.

But I am no glass expert. :undecided:

you 'can' polish out light scratches from glass... but you run the risk of it cracking if it isn't toughened, even if it is toughened you run a high risk of it cracking

about 1 in 3 attempts to polish out a scratch from glass will result in a breakage so be aware of this before you attempt it

there are special pads and polishes that you can use with a DA polisher
