That is hilarious! Makes me look like i'm riding on standard suspension...
-

1st time I saw it was this month pvw.
-
1st time ive seen it too!... crazy!... and as JV said amazing build skill but the exhaust is a bit too long, maybe an inch shorter?? think it could to with just being a few more mm off the ground though! doesnt sound too bad for air cooled.
-
As with alot of show cars I see, amazing skill/workmanship but a awfull car
-
loove the look of narrow beams!

+ a huge 1
Poor aircold unit, having to shove that lardy body around.
Narrow beams are such utter f*cking junk it's untrue.

Oh and can never be road legal, so way dodgy putting a video of it up being driven around on the road.
-
I like the idea but thumbs down from me.
Very dangerous on the roads. I would be soo pissed off if that thing ran into the back of my car because he lost control. Its scrapes the road FFS
-
Saw it at players last year and it looked like the car had been recovered from a scrap yard, it had more roof damage than the M3 kells bought....
-
saw this at a show earlier in the year and when he has it right down u cant fit a penny under it actually sits on the floor and the exhaust sticks out so far when he adds the attatchement its crazy but such a good build and very odd to see the engine in the boot an the bonnet completly empty!

It was recovered from a scrap yard they also converted it to lhd.
-
Looks
Don't like it at all!!!!
Guess it's scene and cool
-
It' arguably the least scene thing ever  Aircooled, mk3 AND innovation all in the one car
-
Where's the innovation?
-
Dropping a watercooled shell onto an aircooled chassis is pretty innovative, nevermind getting everything to work and getting it so low it's almost unbelievable. Whole lot more innovative than BBS RS at any rate.
-

Could I ask why it would never be road legal
-
Build date suggests it'd need IVA, given the structural modifications to the car.
To me the content of the car says it should be evaluated as the Golf, not the Type 3 and that would mean the transmission tunnel and bulkheads would need to remain unmodified and I don't think they have.

Thanks for the info, not a chance that will be road legal then.

Is it an English built car?
-
Is it an English built car?
Yep.
-
couldnt you just say it was a kit car and whack in on a Q plate?
-
Oh the negativity. Some people just build stuff for fun. That's the key here.
-
I totally get people building things for fun, but driving it uninsured, un-MOTed and untaxed on the road and filming it?
And no, you couldn't Chris. Anything built (kit or not) has to go through IVA now.
Expect to see far fewer novel and interesting cars.

I hadnt bothered looking at the related vids on the tube so hadnt spotted it on the road... yeah that is pretty dumb...
-
Not something I would do personally, but it is very cool. I remember speaking to a couple of the T2D guys a while back, seem like a bunch of decent chilled out nice guys. Always good to see someone doing what they like, and having some fun!

Have you been not using your mk2 on the road? I've just PM'd you...

No, the Golf2 is track-only at the moment. It's at the farm in the West Wight, which has a very long drive, for testing purposes.
