anyone got a how to for removing both front and rear door please?
as i have brought some doors same colour code as mine to replace my vandalised ones

Looked in the Haynes yet mate?
I only adjusted the front doors and found the bolts are a pain in the arse to get to. You need the correct tooling. Recommend you avoid the cheap stuff as I bent the first ones and improvised something from the damaged bits. The bolt heads are XZN bits (not spline or whatever people might say). Check this kit out for some ideas of what you need to buy/fabricate: http://www.samstagsales.com/vwaudi.htm (item number 12149-XZ)
I guess its a similar story with the rear door hinges...... :undecided:
Mark position of the current hinges on the pillar with a permanent marker as a guide. The doors are heavy as fook, so have a pal ready and willing and a support underneath. Start removal with the bottom hinge and go from there.
As for disconnecting the door wiring etc, I'm sure the Haynes has the necessary info.
Careful fitting the new doors up as to not damage the paint work, suggest you use some masking tape or similar at the areas that might knock/contact. Re-align hinges to pen markings tweaking it into place and nip the fittings up. Start with the catch plate at its central position. If the hinges have dropped, use some discreet washers to push the hinges up. This is more long-term than the "jacking them up" trick, unless you replace the hinges all together.
Changing over the locks is easy, find a guide on de-locking and just swap the barrels over.
Hope all that helps a bit? Good luck

thanksorange for that info mate.. sadly i aint got a haynes :lipsrsealed:
i had a look at them and they sound like the ones you are saying they got a wierd star style bolts on them which look like a right pain to get too.. and then im worried about damaging them too ..
if i just remove the door completely will the hinges need to be adjusted again for the new door?.. or can i just place it back as long as the position of the hinges aint tampered with.. :undecided:
if anyone has a step by step that would be wikid ..as im going to start it tomorow morning on the rear door first and see how i get on

Oh aye, I'd pictured you doing it with hinges attached to the replacement doors!
If you leave the hinges in place on the car you can then re-fit these doors to original positions on them. What was the fitment like on your current doors, any drop on the hinges? Tooling wise you might get away with only needing suitable XZN (triple spline) bits and a slim breaker etc if you aint touching the bolts at the pillar. If you do need to tweak the hinges at the pillar you'll have to rustle up something similar to that link I posted.
Not sure about door wiring without looking at the book. Is it on a shared connector or individual wiring running through a conduit into the door? Anyone? :undecided:

have no idea about wiring mate gonna have to go through that tomorow.. but by looks of it i can unplug wiring from a plastic cover through side of the door which is where all the cables are fed thru from the door into the car..
as for the hinges i had a look and i can get away with just removing the bolts on the door and leave the hinges in there place.. no mate they aint dropped or antyhing so dont wanna tamper wid em
my mate's dad had a look hes an old mechanic.. he said as long as i dont fook with the hinges adjustment or anything then its just simple unbolt old and bolt on the new one .. lets hope he's right
