Title: Monza Shadows
Post by: gtd2010 on 16 June 2010, 23:00

Would my dealer be able to get me in a set of monza shadow alloys for my GTD or is he likely to refuse because i dont have a GTI?

Sorry if it sounds like a silly question!!

I know evo1986 (lee) on here has them on his GTD, maybe for some cash he would swap them as his car is up for sale.  If he's not sold it already.

They will cost alot of money, you are talking probably near £2000 through a VW dealer for the genuine wheels with tyres, I found a set a VW dealer was selling and paid just over £1000 brandnew off a mk6 gti with continental tyres on.

Try a company called Wheelbase Alloys.  They do a set of lookalike monza shadows for £360.  Worth a look.

The wheels are from Flashpoint in the USA i think,
I have just been on there site and halfway through checkout, and for 4 19" wheels $596.00  +del to uk $1271.44  = $1867.44

Aah, cool, I've just been back on the VW Racing site and noticed there's another batch due sometime now.

Do you have any more pics of your motor with these on?

They really are the best looking wheels. Unfortunately, I'll have to stick with my 18" Shadows for negotiating pothole paradise.

I wonder how much the ride quality is affected with 19" wheels.

As long as the quality is better than a Civic Type R with 18's it'll be okay ;)

Handling.. on the other hand..
