oks i have used the search button, couldn't find the answer i was after.
Sometimes when i want to get it in revere or 1st i have to put it in then take it out then back in for it to get it in gear, mainly when i first get in the car, also it feels stiff and a bit clunky then it well be fine relay smooth gear changers then back to being a bit stiff.
any idea what it can be? checks i can do? possible fixers?
Thanks

What oil. as 80w-90 will cause stiff changes below 10c, as you got to remember viscocity is relevent the the climate the cars in, prett sure vw recommend 75w-90 for UK.
Me and slix had both gearboxes done, he went for VW standard 75w-90 and his gearbox is fine, I went for 80w90 Catsrol Diff oil and that gives me stiffness in gear 1 below 10c in climate or until engine etc has warmed up in cooler weather.
