I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding protecting alloy wheels. Does something like Autoglym SRP do the job, or is it best to buy a wheel sealnt. If the answer is wheel sealant, what's the best sealant to use on new alloy wheels? How often does wheel sealant need to be used for it to stay effective?

guess what I found when I used the search function...

Have a read of the links above, but just an extra note, Autoglym SRP will not protect your alloys at all, it is purely a polish, it does not protect the surface of the alloys.
You need something along the lines of Jetseal 109, Poorboy's Wheel Sealant, Chemical Guy's Wheel Guard etc etc

Have a look at fk1000p high temp wax for your wheels.
I clean my wheels first with SRP then 3 coats of 1000p last for about 5/6 months.
