another mk6 gti ruined!!!!

Look at the guy (owner?) in the blue sweatshirt behind the Mk6, or the one sitting in the Beetle. Says it all really. Hardly candidates for a guest appearance on QI, are they!

It's a "scene" thing. Both cars are from the players crew. The mk6 has been done by g-werks so I assume it's either Darren's, Jay Mc's or Carl Taylor's. The wheels ( I think ) are BLQs are they're the current "must have" items.
Thank f**k I'm not into the scene then...
-
That has to be on bags!!!! i dont mind those wheels though they are just a bit big IMO
-
Car doesn't belong to any of those guys, it's a Gwerks customer car. Of course it's on air-ride. Wheels are from http://www.rotiform.com/
Some people like to keep their car standard and list all the original dealer options they paid for in their forum signature. Some people love to modify cars. Great to have that diversity :afro:
-
I'm all for modifying cars and it's all down to personal taste. I like lowered cars - in fact I've probably owned two in 25 years which weren't lowered. But that looks silly.
-
The guy is probably a young p!sser who cannot p!ss straight!

another mk6 gti ruined!!!!
How is it ruined? All he'd have to do is swap the old suspension and wheels back on and its another mk6.

The guy in the blue is not the owner. The owner owns a finance company and is a property developer, owns various mk's of GTI along side a Q7, RS6 and a fiat 500 arbarth, he might not be on QI but he's probably doing something right! I'm not trying to stir things up but some of the assumptions are pretty funny and the hate for a car which (as far as the one picture shows) is just a mk6 on airride with some 19's is quite surprising.
Carry on.

There are some nice modded MK6's about these days although I have to say I'm not a fan of this one, just don't like the wheels.
I love this one:

It might look acceptable when pumped up, but it looks very deflated and distorted when resting. Surely, a car needs to look pleasant all the time. That car is possibly a niche within a niche.
Long may it stay that way.

I think you're missing the point. It doesn't deflate when you turn it off, it stays where you put it. Air ride is used to run cars supper low but have the ability at the flick of a switch to run a more respectable ride height for speed bumps and car parks as well as being able to "lay frame" in show grounds.

I couldn't find a golf but here's an example of an Audi on air on the move.

Yea, yea yea. Still a bloody ugly sight!

Its not really my sort of thing, but I do like the wheels.
I'm another one of these with my life story in my signature :nerd:

Im just waiting for one of those cars to set fire to the grass off the cat that would be funny. After spending all day under my mk6 thats going to do great things for alot of the underneath suspesnion and plastic covers. Each to there own but i find it pointless.
