the guy wanted 100 to fix it but he got nowt coz he bust it more
70quid for the head
41quid for plugs n leads
had new tensioner 25quid
12quid for belt
17quid for gasket set
rocker gasket forgot the price

right need help off you experts now

i got the car brought home on a truck 45quid
what the guy at my work had done was he took
that plastic cover  off my old head with the timing mark on

and put it on the new head (i never new) so he cocked up the timin
i had it checked over the valves are ok.

my friends dad did the timin spot on n it fired up
but now i need help

because it sounds like a sack of sh!t
exhaust was poppin like a rally car and it keeps cuttin out
and it is flat as a fart no power when i put my foot down

so i dont no wot it cud be i just bought and fitted
new plugs and leads and gonna do a engine flush soon

did the valves hit the pistons when the timing was set out i.e. marks on the pistons as the valves could still be bent it only needs a slight bend to stop the valve sealing.
are you absolutely sure the valve and ingnition timing is correct?
assuming your timing is correct i would do a compression test (preferably leak down test) to ensure the valves are closing properly ad are not leaking due to the being slightly bent.
its a bit late to say this now, but this is why when changing heads or cam belts its good practice to remove to spark plugs and turn the engine over by hand before starting the car up. as then if valves hit pistons it is slowly and unlikely to do damage.

the valves were checked and they are fine.
the compression was 150 -160 i think so thats fine

and it was turned over by hand to start with and the timin
is spot on and it was done with a timin light afterwards
and it seemed fine
