I imagine it was a case of remove and unplug the old one and then just plug in and push in the new one. If it was and you never had to mess with the wires it is probably just a case of jiggling the wires about in the back until it fits. try tying them together to make the area they cover smaller.

Have you fitted the alpine cage? Wires need moving behind?

take the cubby hole and cup holder out and see if you can get your hand behind to push the wires out the way. 99% sure the cables will be stopping it, space is very tight back there

i replaced my headunit recently with an alpine one and had the same issues

as said above take out the cubby hole so that  you can get your hand in and jiggle the wires about which is probably what is stopping it for going in!

good luck

unfortunatly it was the 1% likelyhood of me being a retard, when i removed this from my corsa before the scrappys came to collect what was left of it i quickly ripped the radio and a few other important bits out. when i removed the radio i forgot the cage, so it does not have a cage so going to have to purchase one :( anyone got one fore sale? or no the cheapest place to pick one up?

if i remember correctly can be a bit of a pain but you need to check your cage and also need to thread the back wires through the gap or it wont go in as they stop it from sitting flush!
