Title: Fresh Paint polish.
Post by: SI74 on 13 June 2010, 12:11
I'll be getting my car back this week after its had a full re-spray and I'm looking to give it a going over as soon as I can (think I have to leave it a 2 weeks). I've some SRP here but its all most done so was thinking of trying a new product say Lime Prime lite or Zaino AIO but would like to here what you guys have to say before I buy. At the min i'm heading towards the LP lite as its is an abrasive free polish.  I'll be doing it by hand, its a sliver golf and i'll be waxing the car after.

cheers Simon.

yep limeprime lite ftw and if you have some sealant put a couple of layers on before you wax.

jetseal 109 is a very good sealant and very easy to use.

Just hold on there before you put any LSP on, some people recommend leaving it 4-8 weeks before putting a wax or sealant on. I'll hold my hands up and say I don't know much about fresh paint and how long it takes to dry properly, all I can say is that a lot of people say to leave it a while. I've just had my front bumper resprayed and just for piece of mind i'm leaving it 6-8 weeks before applying any LSP.

I'll not be putting any thing on the car for a while just want the stuff here ready to go when I do. Going to leave it as long as I can.

How much did it cost you to get the whole car resprayed?

£1200 and thats with him doing a few things as well like taking handle/lock out of the boot etc.. Not sure if thats a lot but the car looks class now, money well spent.
