I have the T1-S's in 205/45-16. They are IMHO one of the best tyres going. Had good luck with them.

when i got new tyres for my bbs i asked for toyos proxes and the people in the tyre place said i was stupid. i trust these guys as they all drive nice fast cars and they said toyo's were bought more for the name rather than the actual performance. so they sold me some bf goodrich and they are awesome! never driven round corners that fast!

i think they must be pretty good tyres to have got a reputation, but i'm happy i chose what i chose. i think that price is pretty good though. check prices on online tyre shops to see, i think they're about ?40-45 a tyre??

Not too sure. I have heard nothing but good about toyo really. Makes me wonder now. I had some horrible luck with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's a few years back. Kept losing the tread off of them for some reason. Bought 4 new ones and within a year all four of them had been replaced due to the tyre just shelling out. About a year later i had replaced the replacements with another brand and it stopped. I think the most memorable was 75 mph and one front tyre just went bang and there we go. I hear the newer BF's are really good though. Might give them a try when i wear these ones out.

all good for me, mine havn't worn down quick but I don't use them on a everyday driver, but has has been spinning all 4 wheels down a strip quite a few times ? and i still have loads of good tread left.
I think you will find that the twitchyness is down teh how low profile you go rather than the tyre itself.

Had about 5 sets of toyos (205/50/15) on my mk3 and IMO they are an excellent choice for the money. I paid about ?45 a tyre last time from www.mytyres.co.uk and then had them fitted for about ?5 near me (looked on mytyres and they are out of stock at the moment). They give excellent grip in the wet and wear no worse than any other tyre I have had on the Golf (Dunlop SP2000, Conti Ecocontact- sh*t in the wet!). Give them a try.

I have got these on the Corrado, very good tyre but only managed to get about 9000 miles out of the last set of fronts on the VR6.

Must have been trying a bit too hard!!

Try some although the price seems a bit steep

Had a set of Toyo's on the Mi 16. Nice tyres, good grip, but wore very fast!

And that price sounds a bit high to me.

I had a couple of new BFs about ten years ago on the Golf. They were fantastic, they were wet weather tyres, they gripped like anything in the dry, held on better in the wet than the P600s in the dry, and glued the car in greasy conditions.

And the best bit - they lasted 45k miles!

I'm going BF on all corners next year.

I use Toyos on the Golf and the G40 and they are easily the best all round tyre I have tried. The only tyre I found that gripped better in the dry was Yokos but they turned into ice skates in the wet.

I doubt you'll be dissapointed. Just let the slippy coating wear off for a few miles before you start testing them out!
