I'm with brentacre at the moment. They were the cheapest come my renewal time and they had the best mods policy. Power was capped off at 115hp for the 8v engine (standard power) but I could include exhaust and air filter and ANY cosmetic mod and they were free to declare, so no extra cost for suspension, wheels, spoilers, etc....

They are VW specialists so give them a call, worth a try I guess!

HIC is good if you got alot of mods etc. Found Bell to be really good too, used to be with them before HIC

Nearly saved enough money for my first car

However i'm getting absolutely mental quotes from everybody.

22 Fully Comp No offences or Claims

Everything is in the region of 4-5k!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this because it's the first time I'm buying a car?!?! Too much of my money has been spent on improving the house, perhaps I should have bought a car earlier on in life :(

Greenlight were pretty good with me untill I got my conviction then wouldnt have me. I ended up with Bell purely because they were cheapest and allowed mods aswell. Admiral multi car was pretty good.

How long have you been driving for? That does sound pretty expensive. When I was 22 last year I got my MK5 for £1k (Greenlight insurance)with 1 YNCB and driving for 3 years, thats a group 17 car aswell. Just out of interest have you tried it with you having 1 YNCB and seeing if it changes the price much?

After reading Khare's post I rang Brentacre for a quote. The premium was nearly half what I currently pay, the excess was half of what I have now and as Khare said the guy told me I could add whatever mods I wanted as long as no increase in power and at no extra cost. Will be going to them when mine's up in August.      Cheers Khare....owe you one Mate
