How long should it take a competent garage to fit new arb bushes and drop links? been quoted 1.5 hours and about £71 inc vat?

a set of ARB bushes only takes me 1.5hrs and thats on axle stands!

hour tops, especially with the tools and ramps they have access to

That sounds a reasonable price mate.  Don't go peeing them off!!!   :grin:

Just fished out the receipt from VW doing ours (back in 2008), they charged over 300 notes labour alone!
