Title: 2001 1.8t gti ??

gonna have a look at   (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201021359974304/sort/locasc/usedcars/price-to/3000/price-from/2000/fuel-type/petrol/model/golf/make/volkswagen/radius/60/page/1/postcode/st179fy?logcode=p)   2001 1.8t gti tomorrow , i know absolutly nothin about these cars what should i look out for ? any known issues ?

Car in question has done 103k seems to have alot of service history , from the pictures the bodywork seems straight more concered about turbo, mechanical issues ( if any ) Any input would be greatly appreciated ,

I got one, check for turbo probs, funny noises on accelerating gear changes, and juddering below 1500rpm.
also check his mot for advisories.

Doesn't look bad try and find out when all the bushes were last changed, if they have as it is at the right age and mileage to need doing and as said check for advisirys on last mot especially bushes as unless you are doing them your self they are not always that cheap to get done.

didnt go for it in the end ,didnt like the wheels or the rear lights and after i asked him 3 or 4 times if there was any rusr or bubbles on the arches he told me the front arch was slightly rotten  however i did get meself this :))

but yeh really pleased , got a couple of small issues after all it is 10 yr old :)  bottom arms need doing and a few squeaks here and there 
Done 62k , fsh , all old mot,s covered 4k in the last 4 years , seems to be a genuine car , just never owned a turbo,d motor so a bit paranoid :)

Just glad to be back in a dub ( have been ploddin along in a 98 escort for the last 18 months or so )

only the one photo as i was gettin some funny looks :) had a mate from vw take a look round it and vag com it ,
doesnt seem to be any faults logged all in all well chuffed

wish i knew how to resize pics  :rolleyes:
