Welcome mate, Maintenance is a fortune!!!! IMO the best engine code is AGU found on early 1998-2000, it comes with a crap Ko3 turbo but can easily be upgraded to a Ko3s. This with a Rtec remap will take it from about 150bhp to about 214bhp and also even better torque gains. The internals are apparently good to 350bhp. In mine with the remap, if I drive like a hom I get 40mpg. If I drive like the Don I get an average of 18mpg. Like any car really. I normally average about 25mpg on a through town and back drive. Buy one, youll love the mods and repairs. Ive spent over 3grand in the last 4 months but my car is lookin and running all good! Other engine codes are AUM which have lots more sensors and variable valve timing I believe and AUQ engines begin life with 180 bhp and are found on Anniversary models (2002 only) and some 2003 models which are non anniversary
