Title: Carbonio fitted and Exhaust going on tomorrow + VAGCOM Help Pls?
Post by: KennyGTI on 10 June 2010, 09:36
Finally, after nearly a month and a half my Carbonio Intake arrived and my exhaust.

Firstly the Carbonio looks soooo good in the engine bay and am so happy to get rid of that OEM intake, too much unnecessary clutter! Sounds really good too, much more deeper tone off the engine now. Was parking in a multistorey carpark lastnight and just couldn't resist putting the windows down and giving it some beans  very noisey, but in a good way! Makes the car sound more aggresive and makes one hell of a loud "tshhhh" between on boost/off boost!

Exhaust is getting fitted tomorrow afternoon plus getting my remap changed to the 98ron settings instead of 95 ron so see how much difference they both make.

While am gettin my exhaust fitted am getting the guyto change a few things on VAGCOM, like removing KPH to MPH! Anything else worth my while doing???

Am i right in saying to change the digital reader to MPH, i got to instruments panel the change setting to "rest of the world"?

The air intake looks good. Where from? How much? Easy to fit?

I don't understand how it affects the engine noise, though... forgive my thickness

Its an induction kit so gonna get the induction roar (air being sucked in through the cone filter) and now I can hear the noise (through the cone filter) of the dumped air being passed back to the turbo intake pipe

Got it from Awesome GTI cost £250ish! Very easy to fit also

Endy can you tell me how you change it, i.e. what panels you go into on VAGCOM, want to write it all done for the guy so it easy for him to do it.

It only chirps when you lock it. No audible noise when you unlock it.
