Anyone have the Fiscon kit installed in their mk6's ?
I installed mine over the weekend (Sat) and were experiencing random bluetooth disconnects, not being able to hang up and random reconnections. It happened to us on Sat night but put it down to Bluetooth just giving a one off disconnection. Sunday and Monday was ok. Tuesday it happened byt the misses never told me about it and only mentioned it because today it was pretty bad. It would disconnect in mid call, it would then reconnect with obviously the person on the line disconnected and then wouldnt let us hang up again. We had to do it on the phone side then the Fiscon would let us hang up. this happened twice in a row with two different callers.
We use the iPhone.
Anyone experienced the same ?

I've clocked on the display the message saying no phone connected or words to that effect and then literally 10 seconds later it reconnecting. Not while I'm in a call though.
I've put this down to my phone though rather than the fiscon as it used to do it on a BT headset.
I'm sure its rock solid when my Mrs borrows steals the car.

I'll see how it goes then, but it shouldnt be doing this. It would be completely unusable if it kept doing what its doing.

Totally agree with you. V4 software is out very soon, that may help you out.

Kev, I think I was one of the first to put Fiscon in last year, use with iphone, installed myself, never played up at all.
Pairing issue? Can't decide if it wants your phone or the other halfs?

I thought that at first, that maybe mine confused things as my iPhone originally was used to set it up. But then its only been my misses iPhone thats been used since.
I might factory reset the Fiscon and see how it goes.

I've never read the manual - but is the only way to delete a pairing to do a factory reset?
I haven't noticed any pairing options in the menu.
I've put my name on the list for pre-ordering the iPhone 4G - so hopefully it'll work better.
I have no problems with my Fiscon or my HTC HD2 at the moment - other than it turning my phone from vibrate only to no sound. Simple fix - put the phone on low volume rather than vibrate only.
My other small problem is that if I press the OK button to hang up, it locks the stereo thinking its still on a call. Simple fix - either wait for the other person to hang up, or press the PHONE button rather than OK.
Nice new sig Kev... I think its time to get a GTD ordered

Dont know, all I did I think was just put the the misses phone on discovery and then never turned on my bluetooth again.

You can pair up to 5 phones with it.
Yeah I think the only way to delete a pairing is to do a factory reset.

I have an OEM VW Bluetooth kit, the European version with apparent iPhone compatibility.
Probably once every few days I will get a disconnect and then the RCD displays "phone not connected",or sometimes "telephone" on a black background. Give it a few seconds and it appears to reconnect but with the call dropped.
Not sure if it's an iPhone 3GS issue or the actual Bluetooth unit. Could it be a loose cable/dodgy wiring loom?
Hoping the iPhone 4 will fix it.

My iPhone 3G disconnects sometimes, and also it is not possible to answer calls on occasions. I'm also hoping the next iPhone won't suffer from this issue. I've also been meaning to email Fiscon...

I've been doing a lot of reading, it seems there are a lot of iPhone suffering this issue, and its not just with the Fiscon kit, VW kits and others all have issues with iPhone. From what I read though its just the 3GS that has probs, the 3G and 2G iPhones are ok.
It looks like it can be fixed if the iPhone is connected using the iPod cable, but whats the use in that. It seems that when the phone is switched off into standby using the off switch at the top of the iPhone then randomly triggers the iPhone into thinking that it is not needed so turns it off/on or something along those lines. Another iPhone app that can be used that pings an always on signal to the phone is an app called Insomnia which will help, that though will drain a bit of battery life.
I hope apple sort this with an OS update.
