Hey,
I know there are loads of topics regarding tyre size etc. Just need some more specific advice.
I have 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Tyres on G60 steelies. 195/50/15.
Both the fronts need changing now, however, the GSD3 have been discontinued and are hard to get hold of on such short notice.
The garage can get 195/45/15 (GSD3) however, this would mean different profiles on front/rear.
What do you reckon?
If thats not a good idea, what tyres would you recommend?
I am really happy with the performance/feel/aesthetics of the Eagle F1 tyres, not looking to downgrade.
Will be ordering tonight/tomorrow, advice highly appreciated!

Are the fronts illegal? If not can you not just swop the front and backs over to give you enough time to source the correct ones?

Both the fronts are illegal. Will not be driving on them till they are replaced.
The garage can get most tyres same day delivery just not the ones I currently have.
Always the way!

Only issue is the very slight change in your rolling radius which will throw the speedo out a tiny bit. Oh and when you wear the fronts out next time you cant then fit them on the rear and vice versa because that would look stupid .

DOA is spot on..it will just knock your speedo out slightly..there are calculators online to tell you exactly how much
-
mixing profiles is leagal as long as they stay on the same axel but tbh some how one day it'll find a way to bite you in the arse
-
You have to put the bigger size on the back of the car for legality , but tbh there are better tyres out there , have a look at yoko parada 2 thems be awesome .( and cheaper than 45 series f 1, which btw are mostly made in china now and are therefor quite sh!t )

I wouldn't do it...will be slightly noticable side on.
Everything else has been said. I would think about the wet perfromance of the Tyres you choose if a daily as yokes are not always great in the wet, excellent in the dry mind but wear factor is also an issue

I once had 195/55/15 on the front and 205/50/15 on the back. didn't really notice it to be honest.
Your only going to be a little bit slower than what your speedo says.
Buy them, stick them on the back and wear the 195/50's down the replace them with 45's.
