my mate has a vr6 which he has just bought and is having a big problem with the lack of power.the car runs fine when cold but when it warms up it loses power and doesn,t seem to rev out,also as this happens he can smell fuel from the car.he,s been told by various mechanics to change lambda probe sensors,plugleads,distributor cap and has done this but the car goes no better.my guess is it might be the brain.anyone out there got any comments on this please.also is it safe for me to try the brain out of my vr6 in his car or do i run the risk of causing damage to my car brain.
