The Audi has its MOT tomorrow and I'm fairly certain the front number plate will need to be replaced so I'm looking to do that this afternoon.
I believe the law has changed concerning getting a replacement. Am I right in saying that you need to take your log book with you? Is there anything else that you need to take?
Cheers.

You need the V5 and proof of ID

I was afraid of that. Its Hazels car and therefore the log book is in her name. She's in Wales so I need to get the replacement number plate for her. I can provide proof of her ID but I'm guessing they will actually need her to do it - in which case we're stuffed

nah, your fine, you need proof of your ID for buying the plate.
wouldn't be much fun for fleet operators otherwise

Excellent, nice one, thanks mate. Thats a weight off my mind.
With the MOT tomorrow that was really worrying me. Think I'll bang it in anyway and see what happens - its still perfectly visible so they may not fail it for that. No doubt they'll find something

They always do

Audi passed first time without a single advisory! Not bad for an 18 year old car! All I did, beforehand, was change the valve stem oil seals and replaced the windscreen wipers - well chuffed
Happy Christmas everyone

and no numberplate required!

Yep, got away with it - was worrying about nothing
Off to have a few Stella's now
Had put aside the rest of the weekend to get the car through its MOT so actually got some free time now
