My 2005 GTI of 6 weeks doesn't seem to be able to do a launch control start. I follow the steps but the engine will only rev to around 1500rpm and I can feel it trying to pull away. Am I doing something wrong? I tried in S mode, with ESP off and left foot braking. I thought all DSG's had LC. Thanks for any responses.

Hmm, did you try in manual mode as well?

im not sure when mk5 dsg gti's got launch control but i have heard that the older models did not have the function..
does your car have the flappy paddles?
all is not lost though, as if you get a revo dsg map then this will enable launch control for you, along with a few extra goodies such as faster up and down shifts, no automatic up shifts and torque delimit

I have the same problem in my 2009 r32, put it in S mode turn trac control off, i can only get it to about 1000revs n it feels like the only thing stopping me going is the brakes.
Other than this tho the clutch/brake works fine n the gearbox is silky smooth.

Ok just been out again, any excuse will do for a drive! LC doesn't work in S or D but in manual +/- it definitely works :) Thanks for the advice!

I might add that it makes a difference that you put the tc off first and then into S or Manual mode. Or at least on my car it does. If I select manual/ s first and then turn off tc then it wont work.

That must've been where I went wrong then.
