Looks Stunning! However, in the history there has recently been a lot of parts bought, incl some BBS stickers.

BBS stickers for the refurbed alloys, parts for a full service, looks like it is well looked after.

I like that. If I was in the market for a non-GTi Mk2, I'd go take a closer look

How do the 1.6 engines pull compared to the 1.8 8V's?

they aren't *that* bad, depends what you're used to

I know this car. It was over the road from me for a while, so I got a pretty good look at it.
It has had a blow over respray. There is a few bits of paint on the roof trim, and a couple of other places.
The boot has holes in the top where there appears to have been a spoiler at some point, but not been filled. Pretty sure they have been there for a fair time, having seen it around before.
The wheels have been plasticoted, and the rim is a sparkly grey. Looks..um..pretty..:/

The advertised price was £1250 (so probably the reserve?), but I wouldn't want to go any where near that. One chap I know who took a look at it, having owned a few Golfs, and a bunch of other cars, thought it was worth maybe £700 at a push.

Does look tidy inside tho. Not sure I like the rally key ignition tho. Didn't have keys for the door there, so not sure how that will work.
Would deff take a close up look before you bid on it.

If anyone want me to take another look, let me know. Will pop over if it is still there.

Please mate - take a look if you could. That's what I first thought. It just looked too coincidental that all that stuff had been bought by the seller within only a month. Oh well.

Sorry, it has moved. Looks like they didn't want it on the forecourt with the shiny Audi TT, Evo, Mercs etc hehe. The bidding is still nowhere near the Reserve tho (if it is at the £1250 as thought). Perhaps it will show up cheaper when the auction ends. Will keep an eye out for it.

Ooh, another bit of news I found out about it. There is no cover on the cam belt (as I believe they didn't have them back then?). A guy who claimed to be a mechanic was looking it over once at a show. Stuck his fingers into the belt and lost the top of two when it caught them and pulled them through the wheel :s That's some kind of special mechanic right there :/
