Anyone know if coraddo shocks fit a mk2 golf?
-
Yep.
-
is that yes you know, or yes they fit? :p
-
They should fit. What version of Corrado though? Some have G2 top mounts, others G3 ones.
-
They're from my 1993 16v DH.
I was under the impression that they fitted but need to be sure.
It's just springs & shocks. Top mounts are needed.
-
well as long as the shocks and springs fit, the mounts can be sorted separately I guess
-
ok got the shocks in the post, tried to fit them today and had already got mounts for them and the mounts dont fit, we ordered the ones that are supposed to go on a mk2 gti but the bit that the spring is supposed to sit against is too small in diameter,
Anyone know which mounts work?
-
(the rear ones are fine, its just the front ones)
-
You'd need Golf2 spring caps.
-
whats a golf2 springcap?
-
the bit that the spring is supposed to sit against is too small in diameter,
-
im still not sure what you mean, i really dont know a great deal about cars
if the spring cap is the bit that sits against the spring then I already have them as theyre part of the mounts arnt they? on my new mounts which are golf mk2 ones, but as i said, theyre too small for the spring.... :undecided:
-
No, the spring cap is a piece of pressed metal.
It bolts down on the strut first, then the top mount goes on.
-
ah ok, so i need spring caps as well as mounts, gotcha, thankies :D
-
Remove old strut assembly, place side by side next to new bits and make sure they're the same before re-assembly.
Saves making a tit of yourself and doing the job more than once.
Remember to get the front end properly set up once you've done the job.
