hi ive got a 8valve i was wondering is any of you guys have made any small modifications too increase performence i have put a K&N induction kit is there any thing else that doesnt cost that much that will boost power ?? thanks  :grin:

what do you guys think of putting high octanne fuel additive is it really as bad for the the engine as people make out ?

I would jsut stick to optimax  the bp alternative matey, not sure about the additives, so cant give  you any advice on them

Best thing you could do is what i have done with mine install a heavy duty rubber band turbo and some golfgti.co.uk number plate frames this should give you an extra few horses and dont forget to add a few stickers as well they are worth at least 5 horses each. :wink:

I would stick to the optimax fuel i doubt that adding fuel additives will do much for your engine long term i know ive tried makes it go a bit faster but the stuff i used was ?15 a bottle so not very cost effective.Just run a bottle through every 2k and chuck out all the seats you dont use cos if its a 5 door like mine its prob 0-60 in about 3 years. :shocked:

You could  get rid and get a 3dr mk2 16v still the best golf out there but the good ones are gonna go up in price soon i recon... :tongue:

yeh mine is a 5dr and i know the feeling of 0-60 in a few years .. the power is all above 3krpm used to have a nark 2 driver 1.6 and that felt as quick of the mark.. i wanna VR6 ! !

tell u what.. now my cars had a proper service it feels a lot better.. all new fluids, spark plug and filter changes :)

I have found that as well overseer, when mine has been serviced it runs a lot better.
