Well I got the revo treatment today ...... Wowzers now it's quick. I have to say tho immediately after the remap I could hardly tell the difference but after filling up she flew. upon arriving home to after switching off the ignition my car sounded like a Boeing 747 with the fans cooling the engine ? Is this normal ? I assume the engine gets hotter with the new found power therefore the fans need to go into overdrive ?

thats probably down to the warm spell of weather we have been having. Mine does that on the regular anyway. Wait until you have filled her up with some 99ron a couple of times

How much did it cost all in mate?

499 all in the ones that charge VAT on top of that are greedy so I am told

Noticed any lag at any points under hard acceleration yet? Mine still comes up with that bullsh!t occasionally. Im hoping my new apr filter and a new exhaust when i find a suitable one cure it.
-
Only noticed lag once floored it in 6th gear screen read 3rd gear but it wasnt engaged until about 3-4 seconds later

You will find adding hardware mods (like the filter and TBE) to the Revo stage 1 will make that hesistation worse between 2-3k worse, they are aware and are working on it

Again how can anybody recommend revo when there product doesn't work right on the MKVI, I would never say anything good about revo to anybody. Customer service from revo directly to me personally was absolutely shocking. They basically said thanks for your £700 now f**koff! "Yes we've heard of the problem but nobody can reproduce it for us so we dont care"
Does that mean when they find the problem they are going to update the maps on the cars previously done or is that wishful thinking

Hehe, welcome to the club. Makes you wonder why VW don't make the GTI like that in the first place

A few reasons
-
I'm sticking with Oettinger, due to their reputation and history with VAG engines going right back to the original GTI in 1976
Slightly less headline power claimed, but who cares
Roll on July 1st!
When I had my 335d remapped up to 340bhp, the difference was remarkable, but huge care was needed in the wet
Hoping my GTI will be that little bit better post remap
-
My mate just had his "JD-Engineering" remap last friday on his MK V and they could measured his torque (I believe it is more important than BHP) they measured 392 Newton....
The rollerbank was 100 euro extra and will only detail you if it is 250 or 253 BHP....
They added roundabout 40-45 BHP...and he is as happy as.....make that a porsche-boxter-owner... :smug:
It took one drive in my car a few weeks ago for him to contact "his" remappers....he could no longer live with a normal GTI (his words).....
-
..... and just in time for the ash cloud!
