Title: 5 speed to 6 speed gear box conversion

hi, my gear box needs refubing and i have the chance of a 6 speed 02m box to replace it with flywheel etc. was just wondering if this box would fit???

i have a 1.8gti 51 plate aum engine code any advice b4 i go ahead would be appreciated

covered in a thread about a week ago but.....

driveshafts, starter motor, flywheel, clutch etc etc

In other words not worth the effort  :smiley:

the kid whos selling the conversion says it coomes with everything that is needed, just wanted to check that the box in question would go into a mk4.

Yes but you need to change a lot of parts

i also thought tht the 1.8t's prefere the 5 speed box....

Its better suited to a standard 150bhp turbo YES

Soon as you remap or have a k03s or bigger then NO  - The 02M is more suited.

Hence they fit 02M's on everything fitted with an S or above.

Basically what you need for conversion...

* 02M FWD Gearbox
* 02M 6 Speed Gear Linkage
* 02M Flywheel(4cyl.)
* 02M Clutch
* 02M Starter Motor
* 02M Front 2WD Driveshafts

I did say RING me if you wanted to know anything, Saves me typing it out all time but each to there own....
