-
really i herd loads of bad about hot.............any1 got a link to the fk s
-
yes really wouldnt say i like them if i didnt
-
As if you find coilies comfy! You must have a crap sofa!!! if you search for fk coilovers on eBay they should come up if their on there currently. Alternatively, ring venom motorsport and they'll probably sell them to you for the eBay price as their losing 8% through paypal.
-
haha no seriously i find i have a pretty smooth ride
-
GUNNA GO FK I THINK AS JAM DONT GO LOW ENUFF AND TOOO MUCH BAD SHIZZ BOUT HOT T
-
the ride on the hottuning collies aint that bad ive had them for over a year with no problems untill i noticed the other day both fronts were leaking, i had weitecs on before these and they were rubbish
-
I think all coilies go down to 100mm lower (ARB pending) but they advertise as less for TUV approval or something. How come your Weitecs were gash? I nearly bought some but Im too tight!

they were very crashy and sqeeked alot, only had them on for 6 weeks and sold them for £225

Had my JOM/Hot tuning ones on for 2 years, Not 1 problem.
The people that complain is the people that treat coilovers as standard struts and go over speed humps at 90mph.
-
Or people who live in the Norfolk countryside where roads are levelled by the blind
-
lol ^
Well thats another thing, im careful and roads are Ok round here.

+1
-
I would avoid the hottuning ones.
-
Ive brought JOM from ebay £180 free P+P, had them for over a year now, not one problem.
Remember once fitted you have to give it time to settle in, you cant drive over speed bumps like before, you have to go much slower and depending on how low your car is you may have to go over speed bumps on one side of your car not through the middle as youll probably hit something underneath.
Some companies also provide 1yr warrenty, coilovers feel alot harder then springs but once settled in the ride wont feel as harsh.
Some people go for out and out low, bad thing about doing that is you have to be careful of every bump in the road and weight eg more passengers most likely your wheels will be rubbing against the arch, other people just make sure theres a tiny gap between arch and tyre not noticeable, with this you dont need to worry about weight and you can drive fast knowing that nothing will brake, stiil have to be careful of the bumps.
More often its just luck when purchasing suspension parts, so long as its fitted correctly and you drive sensibly they should last a while, also after fitting its best to get tracking done a little while after.
Good luck

I have some FK in the post was just wondering if they are a straight change (no additional fixings needed)?
An was just wondering how low you can go before hitting problems, guessing 60mm?
I have also picked up drop links, spacers, and struts upper/lower

Have to disagree you get what you pay for IMO
-
T1 11JKE - If you lower your car more than 35-40mm then you will either need adjustable drop links or uprated arb so that the driveshafts dont catch on the roll bar.
Ive just purchased a set of FK coilovers for £165 delivered from venom, cant wait to get the car sat on her batty
-
^^ let me no what they are like mate

Thats well cheap! could only find the fk street coils for £245, which ones have you brought? adjustables?

do a search on ebay for Golf coilovers, Venom have about 10 sets for sale. There not advertised as FK, there advertised as venom coilovers but there are actually FK ones as i called them and they said that they renamed them on ebay as FK dont like them selling on cheaper than rrp.
here's the link to the ones i bought

If you had a choice between fk "cough" venom coilovers or jom coilovers which would you go for ? as i can get jom ones for same price but not sure which ones to go for :undecided:
-
personally i would go FK
-
If FK ones are that cheap, buy them. At worst theyll be the same as hot tuning ones but blue. Nothing to lose.
-
these are yellow springs. The FK Street are the entry level coilovers, not as good as the highsport or konigsport variants but still very good. TUV approved, powder coated springs
-
My mate has a set of highsports and 8 months down the line it doesn't matter what colour they are as all the paint has peeled etc
