Title: Selling the golf (new pictures page 3)
Post by: sambo on 02 June 2010, 19:59

Decided to sell the car, lack of use by me means a diesel runabout for the misses and some cash would be better suited to the current situation.

Cheers all, Sam  :undecided:

I'm thinking about getting a non VAG related day to day car so won't blaspheme on here

The golf TDI isn't for me, i'd only ever think how much better my GTi was, and there too expensive to make it worth while as the cash will come in handy.

I haven't driven the GTi for months, other than nipping to KFC about 500 yards up the road, once the other day.

It's a shame, but only a car at the end of the day, so no point letting it effect everything else.  :nerd:

Different people with different circumstance, its been hell not being able to drive my car, how do you get about etc? If you don't use it then it makes sense not to have it.

Alan,

Got a work van mate, VW crafter 136ps so not a sh!tter.  Misses uses the golf to take the daughter to nursery, then go to work, then pick her up and come home after work. Bit of a waste really. Just paid £130 to tax it for 6 months, the car i'm looking at costs £120 for 12 months. No brainer really.  Then theres worrying about where it's parked etc enough space in supermarkets to avoid ding's and all that hassle that goes with a car you cherish.

Hopefully it will go too a good home, I think it's priced about right, we will see I suppose?

I'd like to think so

Not really the best place to try selling the car but ..

Cambelt and water pump were both done 4k ago, DV has been updated to the latest revision but engine is completly unmolested.

2 front tyres are nearing the end of there life with minimal tread, but I haven't replaced purely because anyone with a few extra quid and some sense will whip the 17's off and slap a nice set of 18's on to replace. Because of this, there is some room for negotiation or tyres can be fitted at my cost instead.

really is very tidy, no stone chips on bonnet as it was painted when I bought it to remove, only some chips to bumper (not ED30 splitter) and wing mirror covers. Other than that it's near mint condition. One other thing I would add because I like to be upfront with my sales, the drivers side door need's tweaking, its dropped slightly. Nothing major but I haven't got the right tool/socket to have a go myself.

Even bought a replacement original style bottle opener for it when I got it as it was missing.

Also forgot to mention the 6 disc changer under the armrest in ad. Dunno if there standard, but there are funky red lights that shine down from the roof in the dark too  and obviously having factory sat nav, highline computer  and a parrot handfree kit

Cheers, Sam

Can I have your ed30 front splitter? px for oem colour coded? or bought outright?

Shame to let it go to someone who wont appreciate the beauty and the individuality (and cost) of this work of art.....    PM me if you can be arsed, but it might help you wring a few extra bucks out of the sale....

Hi mate,

Doubt it's worth it to be fair, would be easier selling one the car TBH. Also colour may not match 100%

Really shocked it hasn't sold yet.  Have you got it on autotrader?  Not many people think to use pistonheads to buy cars

Same, had it on pistonheads for two weeks and it sold in 2 hours from AutoTrader

Its on egay and pistonheads and here. Reason being it's more likely to go to an enthusiast that way. Not in any major rush to sell but once the ebay classified runs out i'll slap it on autotrader.
