Hi guys,
Just thought i'd share my new discs and pads with you all
Fitted EBC standard dicsc and redstuff pads and i must say after a 200mile trip home from my parents house they have made a significant difference
I know they're only the rears and these only account for about 1/3 of the braking power but i have relatively new (~1 year old) front discs and pads which are just standard fayre from GSF and i can notice the rears pulling a lot more compared to how they used to be.
I'm well pleased for £70 dleivered for the discs and pads and would recommend them to anyone needing to sort their rear brakes out in the near future.
I think i'll be ordering some for the fronts when i upgrade to 312mm setup.

£70 for rear disc's and pads that are EBC, thats a good price mate. where did you get them from?
-
You'll hear nothing but praise from me regarding EBC. I've got EBC discs and redstuff pads on the front of mine and they're great

Other way with me :undecided: Greenstuff are awful.

Aren't greenstuff pads designed for pansy boy use?

Would appear so. On the other hand they release not much brake dust.

ive used redstuff pads before and i rate them, excellent breaking and less dust than greenstff pads

Partsbuy is the place I got them from (google it, first hit) they were recommend to me by someone on here IIRC. The rear pads were about 40 and the discs 13 each or something daft! Bear in mind I have standard GTi rears not the 256mm upgrade off the anniversary etc.

+1 for Partsbuy :afro: Front EBC standard 288mm disk was £17!!!

I'm confused, do you mean you should have gone 325mm instead of 312mm?

Im agreeing with Dan's comment that I should have gone 312mm over the 288mm I have just replaced. So disappointed in the 288mm brakes on the Golf Im going for 325mm and skipping the 312mm.

Ah yes i'm with you now lol!
Yeah i would love to go 325mm 4 pots but doubt i can afford if i'm honest. I worked it out that i can get EBC standard discs from Partsbuy for £20 each and the pads for £65 plus the carriers off ebay for £100ish brings me to under £200 for the lot. The cheapest Porsche 4 pots i have seen went for about £250 on ebay, then i need discs, carrier adapters and pads. Don't get me wrong its £500 well spent but i just can't justify it at the moment
