Title: Automatic lock when driving
Post by: Becca88 on 01 June 2010, 10:22
Hi all
Wondering if someone can help, I used to have an A3 which would automatically lock the doors when speed exeeds 10mph
I now have and Edition 30 which doesnt do this, is there any way i could get it to do it ? Are they supposed to or would it be something I would need to have changed on the software?
Would appreciate any help
Thanks
Bec

I have this on my GTI and it was set-up via VAGCOM. However I have got a funny feeling that it can be set-up via the highline on-board computer (Im pretty sure its called "Anti-Hijack"). Im not 100% though.

I have the mid-line computer so cant check.

Alans right.

If you have highline press and hold one of the buttons on the end of your wiper stalk and scroll through the menu's its in convinience options i think  :undecided:

If you dont its a vagcom job

It can be set via VCDS or your dealer who sometimes will do it for free. The highline will do it uswell. If you have a MFSW use that to go to the convenience settings and into auto door locking and make sure you do the auto unlocking for when you take out the key.

Also get used to your passengers trying to rip the door handle off when trying to get out as it takes 2 pulls to unlock it. The doors will unlock when you take the key out BUT I find most my passengers dont like waiting in the car for 20 seconds whilst turbo cools down.

just hit the unlock all doors button just as you pull up, stops the passenger ripping the handle off.

Is there a button for this? I've had by car for a year and never spotted it.
