Title: Whats wrong with this pic????
Post by: DarkGti on 31 May 2010, 21:15: Just gone to start the car to go fill up and as i was turning the key to take the steering lock off...... SNAP....... well chuffed now my car wont start
anyone got any ideas? i havent got a clue about keys

its a good job i was in a good mood else the damn thing would of gone up in flames lol

Post by: Purely VAG on 31 May 2010, 21:40: Looks like that keys had its use. You just need a new blade for that key and copy your old one at a key cutter. Cheap for cutting about £5-£7, just need the blade.

Post by: gavgtiturbo on 31 May 2010, 21:45: you could cut the chip out of the key,remove the coweling around the barrel and fix the chip to it at lest you could start it with plyers then till you can get another key,ive done it with a new a4 for remote start its easy if your carefull

lol yea have tried pliers but the key and fob are interlinked so cant start the car but just turning the key bit

Post by: DarkGti on 01 June 2010, 00:06: fixed(well sort of lol), managed to get the transponder chip out the broke key which was a piece off piss, i justed poured some white spirt over the transponder and wait for the glue to dissolve, then taped the trasponder chip to the top of some pliers put the key in the ignition and turned with the piles and hey presto the f***er started
