Title: vagcom fault codes an issues,,, seriously not good :(
Post by: linz on 30 May 2010, 20:05
well put my baby on the vagcom for first time and  (as since the upgrade she is just not running right at all she is barely driveable in fact) (im not happy an want it sorted)
some of her problems link to what vagcom said others im baffled the whole car seems to shake uncontrollably at like 40mph

anyway...
oh dear seems i have like 6 engine faults that all lead to maf sensor so guessing i should get a new one.. do i just replace or shud i get the vr6 one as i no i need tht for my live map.
also when upgrading to i get the vr6 housing n sensor or just the housing with a 1.8t sensor?? :embarassed: and do i simply swap them over an thats it?

also i got up like 17 fault codes for central locking  :undecided: havent got a clue what they are all about either

All those door module ones look ominous

Did they show after you cleared them?

A lot of those simply look as if they've pulled the battery

What codes have come back since you cleared them?

i did the vagcom like 2 days ago.. an 2 days later there still there im not to worried about the central locking ones im more wrrried about the engine codes

and the airbag one would be nice as the dash light being on is a pain

So you couldn't clear ANY of the codes?

It looks to me that they've unplugged nearly everything and not plugged it back in  :undecided:

havent done anything about them to be honest

as i said ive ignored the central locking ones it works that good enough for me.....

im more concerned about getting my car running right.... as right now its wat i would call undriveable

Have you cleared the codes though?

i.e you've clicked the CLEAR DTC button in VAGCOM

Sorry to bang on about it but you're not being very clear if you've done that or not

Lol

Its not complicated

Just go into individual modules, scan for codes, make a note and then clear them

Do Engine, Airbags, 17 - instruments and 46 - central convenience

i did an then i cleared thm an did an auto scan (i no i have to clear them as dont have the OBD function part

an now i have the airbag ones still and 01314

ut dont see how engine ones can clear then not be there without doing anything to relsolve them ??

im confused

gah this car seriously makes me wanna  why did i want it back should have just sold the bloddy thing

As I said most of those are power supply codes - someone has had the ignition on and then pulled the battery supply = instant code

If most of the engine codes clear you now need to run the engine around the block and then rescan to see what, if any, come back

Post by: linz on 30 May 2010, 23:22
urgh i will rescan tomorrow but hate driving it anywhere its awful either drives like im in an earthquake runs like a bag of arse or pops a pipe

ramming it into a wall seems like a much better option right now   :lipsrsealed:

Lol don't write it off, as Rhyso said;
do a scan
remember modules
then rescan them individually
clear codes for each one
go for a drive
then auto scan
hope for the best

most of those faults will probably stay gone.. the fuelling ones will probably come back after a while until it's mapped. Whats the exact spec of the engine now?
