Anyone know if you can change the colour of the Fiscon display on the RCD/RNS510?
It's green when everything else isn't.
Maybe I've missed it...anyone know?

When I changed the colour of my RNS510 recently I could only get the Fiscon to be some form of green!!

Mine is green too - no idea why?
Looks odd... but its not worth moaning about. You could email Fiscon and ask if there is a way to change it to match the RNS themes instead?
I think Fiscon UK are just a reseller though - you'd probably need to contact Kufatec?
-
I've also wondered if there's a way to make it match the rest of the display (red).
-
The red/green/blue themes indicate music/telephone/nav functions respectively. As far as I know you can change the style of the buttons but not the colours - telephone menus are always green.
-
Does the OEM VW phone kit display in green too then?

According to here, (http://www.vwcruise.com/48.html) yes.

Yes, I think they have to work within the same parameters hence they look identical.

I thought it was a lot of money at first (even second hand) but to be honest I keep finding features that make me glad I forked out for it.
I agree the navigation is fiddly and at times I find it hard to find a POI that I know is in the unit but that is probably user error.
My only gripe is I couldn't find a road when I was taking my son to his friends despite having the postcode and road name, the unit just couldn't find it. I put it down to it being a reasonably new housing estate. So I set off just using the 4 digit postcode to get me to the location at least. I found the road eventually no thanks to the head unit. While I was there I selected NAV on the unit and it was able to tell me what road I was in!!!! Yet I still couldn't find it by searching!!!
Weird.

I agreed the RNS 510 sat nav cost ridiculous amount of money but my job involves visiting a lot of unfamiliar place in a short space of time. Its a no brainer for me. I find the unit reasonablely accurate when compare with a Porsche PCM 3. The fact you enter the postcode via touchscreen is miles better than an Audi, Merc or BMW. As mention above, there are occasions when the unit let you down but you will find the portable ones which I also bring along to work also struggle to find those addresses! Just like xenons, depends on what you use the GTI for, it a total waste of money to one but absolute must for others!
