Thanks mate....Saw the one on Fleabay..
Stone chipped hence why i want one in black plastic with a matt finish and not sprayed....
-
Black Gloss vinyl Wrap does the job
-
You are a wealth of Knowledge Steve....
Being a complete newcomer to this sort of thing,who/where or can do this ?
Sorry for the Noddy questions !!!! lol..
-
Go to any Vehical wrapping companys or signage companys, and they will have some Black gloss wrap kicking around. All you need is 6" peice (oh er!) and it takes 10 minutes to sit and apply. Peice of Cake
The chrome part of the badge comes off both front and rear so you can apply it very neatly without fighting with it on the car

I bought mine from dubstop (based in US).

Thanks for the post's...
I have managed to source one from Fleabay of all places, solid black and from an VW online shop in Germany....
Having looked at the standard badge on my car is it a case of taking off the grill to remove the badge or can just the chrome part of the badge be removed ?
Thanks in advance.

Rotate the vw badge in the grill anti-clockwise.
Then with a small screwdriver, prize off the chrome face off the Black housings. Peice of p!ss

What he said, are you ever going to have the badge out ever again?
-
The proper way is to remove the front grille ans then extract the badge.
-
Well one new bracket later and all is well......
And i am pleased with the result's.
Thanks for reply's fella's.

Mmmm, I just tried this. I felt a nasty click and now the badge is loose but not out. It feels like I may have broken one of the brackets.
Is it easier to take the grille out? I can see two torx screws and a couple of tabs on the top so I'm hoping its quite accessible once these are out?
-
There are four screws - two torx and two philips. Then lift forwards and upwards. Then push the tabs on the badge through.
