Title: Quick oil question

hey guys quick question, cars gettin a little low on oil, so was gonna replace or top up, when changin the oil is it a simple enough job? and can you recommend any particular types of oil for a 1.8T AGU ?

any help would be great  :smiley:

fully synthetic - semi synthetic?

5W -30
10w 40
5w 40

what do u recommend? 5w -30?  and how much would be needed for a full oil change?

Go to VW and get their Quantum oil - does the job perfectly :afro:

You'll need around 4-4.5 litres so get the 5 litre bottle

yep it will be unless you got a leak  :grin: :grin:  You normally get about 4 litres out of it - leave it drain for a good hour or so to get the most out

Urm not sure mate  :undecided: - they don't do many oils so just ask for the one for the 1.8T  :smiley:  would think its 5w-30 or something like that

Also tends to be cheaper than any stuff Halfords stock.  I picked up 5 litres for my derv for less than £30 and I find it runs much better than the other oil brands I've tried

hi I use the magnatec 5/30 oil have a look in asda they have a good deal on mobil 1
get your oil filter and new sump plug from vag.

they cost a couple of quid come with a new tapered washer it will prevent leaks from the plug I run a agu love it remember to flush the oil first get a flushing solution.
look at the polin filter , air filter and plugs get these all changed and notice the difference.
is your car standard 150 bhp.

mate get it mapped and lowered remember if the clutch is weak the map will  finish it off

You cant on the VW plugs :wink:

thats right they are tapered i only paid £2.00 from vag for the whole plus and washer worth changing as the lugs may be turned on the plus.
