Anyone know how big a job fitting new oil seals is?
-
have yours sh!t themselves then
not sure on how the K03s internals are but I did my own on a Garrett T3 and it wasn't too bad
-
It was in the garage for an unrelated job,but the pancake pipe had to come off and a pool of oil was reported,i'll have a look again in a few days to see if any oil comes back as the pipe was cleaned.
-
might have been remnants from the years before the catch can was fitted (hopefully)
-
mine was the same lots of oil poured out of intercooler when changing my pancake pipe.....im going to boot it more through the gears see if it happens again...its not good ...my intercooler must think its a oil cooler
-
interesting and worrying thought as i've noticed some oil in some of my boost pipes and the dump valve had some in too :embarassed:
can you disconnect the pancake pipe just by taking the wheel off? or is it easier getting underneath?
-
get under the car to take the pipe off ...not hard
-
Oil is very common in the boost pipes stock and remapped, its not a sign of the seals being fecked. Get a TDI and you find the intercooler thick with black oil.

That's reassuring Nick.
What signs would oil seals give?
-
if the 3 turbos I have killed over the years are anything to go by, a LOT of smoke ALL the time
-
Blue smoke out the exhaust is no. 1 key.
