That's the same build week as my GTI. I've been told by my dealer that my new car is going to come with the rear LED Lights. Do you know or can you confirm if this is the same with your car.

Yeah, i have been told also that my car will come with LED's, Hill hold, and multi function steering wheel as standard. I'm delighted about it!!

Here in Ireland the Multi function steering wheel wasn't standard until these changes!!

How do you find the GTD?

Well I came from an ED30 to the GTD and lets just say there are no regreats at all, I love the motor. It took a bit of getting use to, I did 300 miles at the weekend cost me 35 quid diesel ed30 would have been about 80. The one I would recomend is getting the DSG box it just complements the car. What spec have you orderd?

Steve,

I have ordered White, 3 door, parking sensors front and rear, privacy glass, multifunction steering wheel, RNS310 and because the car is being built week 23 it is also coming with Hill hold function and rear LED lights.

I was going to order leather but i perfered the look of the cloth.

I don't think we get the choice of an RNS310?
I've seen it in German photos - but never the UK ones.

I see your point. You are right there is no mention of it on the VW website for speccing it on the car as a factory fit!
He has probably got his wires crossed and is having it as a dealer fit option.

Title: Re: RNS310

I havent tested a GTI or anything but that was my first choice car to get but with the price of petrol here in ireand (134.9 cpl) i think that it would just be too expensive to run so i decided to go with the GTD because i would get more mgp with comparable performance to the GTI.

The GTD is a brilliant car , Its better than the gti by far , bring on the comments from the GTI boys!!

Do I detect gratuitous provocation here? The GTI has crap fuel economy and range (I barely get 400 miles between fill-ups), but I do feel slightly superior whenever I go past a GTD

And i would presume 'R' drivers feel slightly superior when they drive past a GTI!!!!

Of course, that's the natural pecking order. When I'm in the GTI and get overtaken by an Aston Martin, or a Bentley, I feel like a commoner

Boys, boys or should I say now, now ladies.
GTi crap range and economy.
R even crappier than above.
GTD excellent range and economy.
I don't have a superiority complex or an inferiority one.
If you like sticking a bloody expensive nozzle in your pipe regularly, then go for the first two.
For sensible fun, go for the GTD + DSG. I have driven one and it is superb.

Its all about who you know really, I am very good friends with the warranty guy in our dealership we play golf alot together. Would I get it done if I didnt know him probably not unless I knew my dealer very well and trusted them. You have just got to trust the product you have bought will be fine which out of all the people with mk6's out there or on here how many engine related issues have there been?
