Bought a Mk4 (53 plate) GT TDi 150 a little over a month ago, and love it! BUT... this morning the "Emissions Workshop" code came on and the amber engine symbol is on constantly, so dropped into local VW on the way into work to ask about a diganostics but they wanted £49 and cant do it for 2 weeks! (How useful of them!)
So as the cars under a 3000 miles or 3 month warranty from the place i bought, dropped in and they ran a free diagnostic there and then. Found out that glow plug number 3 is faulty. Its being replaced tomorrow, for free! But VW have recommend that all the plugs are changed at the same time! Is this true, is it worth the time and money as the place i bought it will only swap the faulty one for free!
The car has full VW history (apart from the last service) and the records showed that glow plug number 2 has been replace no less than 3 times in its life time. Is this something major, is it going to keep needing new plugs?
